Your new house has a pre-existing security system
Many times after you buy a new house, you’ll see that the old owners didn’t take a home security system. All the components work, are hung in the right areas, and are ready to go. In this case, all you might have to do is to call and set up a new monitoring contract. A Vivint installer will still come out to ensure there are no integration issues, and they might offer suggestions on where you should replace bad outdated components. It's a quick visit, and you can have your alarm monitoring set up without worrying about any new alarms and cameras -- unless you make additions.
The previous owners can give an existing Vivint contract to your family for a nominal set-up fee to make your life easier. If the previous owners are moving to an apartment or retirement community, you keeping the home security contract may be a part of the sale.
You are looking to move and bring your existing devices with you
You might want to take your old Vivint system with you to your new home when you move. Luckily, it's pretty simple to transfer, as many smart devices are wireless. You can uninstall each device yourself or contact a Vivint installer to come and take down the system. Then our installers will hang the same features -- and any new items you want -- in the new home. Your home security contract will keep the same.
